ISU Plan - Medical, Prescription and Dental Insurance

Medical Plan options include ISU PPO Plan (Alliance Select) and the ISU HMO Plan (Blue Advantage) administered by Wellmark BCBS. The Medical Plan includes a pharmacy program, Express Scripts that is administered separately from the medical plan but does not have a separate premium. Dental insurance is administered by Delta Dental of Iowa with basic or comprehensive plan options.

State of Iowa Plan - Medical, Prescription and Dental Insurance

Medical Plan includes 3 options: Program 3 Plus (Classic Blue), Iowa Select (Alliance Select) or Blue Access (MCO) administered by Wellmark BCBS. All 3 plan options include prescription programs. Dental insurance is administered by Delta Dental of Iowa with one plan option. 


Flexible Spending Account & Dependent Care Assistance Program

The health care flexible spending account (FSA) & dependent care assistance program (DCAP) help you save money on medical and dependent child care expenses.  Use these accounts to leverage your household’s savings. By contributing a portion of your pay into an FSA or DCAP on a pre-tax basis, you may save from 25% to 40% on the cost of eligible expenses you are already incurring.  These plans are administered through ASIFlex.  


Long Term Disability

Long term disability insurance provides a monthly benefit if you become unable to perform your ISU job due to a disabling illness or injury. Employees are automatically enrolled in the coverage after one year of employment.  During the first year of employment, employees have the option to apply for the long-term disability option.  If approved for the coverage, they are responsible for the premium on a post-tax basis during their first year of employment. Premium is based on annual budgeted salary.


ISU Plan Life Insurance

Group Term Life Insurance is administered by Principal Financial Group with an optional enrollment in Voluntary Term Life Insurance and Dependent Term Life Insurance.

State of Iowa Life Insurance

Group Term Life Insurance is administered by Principal Financial Group with an optional enrollment in Voluntary Term Life Insurance.
