Healthcare Benefits Changes - More Details October 2nd
As detailed in a memo from university leaders on September 18, Iowa State will see changes to its benefit plans beginning January 1, 2024.
A virtual town hall dedicated to these benefit plan changes in advance of the upcoming Open Enrollment period (November 1-17) will be offered on October 4 at 9 a.m. CST. Faculty and staff can join the town hall virtually. Check back here for login information closer to the event. For those unable to attend, the town hall will be recorded and available for employees to review a few days following the event.
Additional tools and resources regarding these changes, including ALEX, an interactive online tool to help you select your benefits, will be made available on October 2. Please contact our UHR Benefits team at benefits@iastate.edu with any benefits-related questions.

New Benefits and Pay Hub
University Human Resources recently launched a new Benefits and Pay Hub app within Workday’s main menu. The hub provides a single location for employees to review their benefits, compensation, and pay information. This new feature allows employees to easily view the value of their total rewards package at the institution. Base pay, applicable allowances, awards or one-time payments, and employer-paid contributions for benefits are visible in the hub on a rolling 12-month basis.
The hub, which can be found under applications in Workday’s global navigation menu, is currently available for faculty, merit, postdoc, and Professional and Scientific (P&S) employees. Additional employee groups will be added in the future.
