University Orientation Presentations: Set the foundation of what you need to know to be a successful employee at Iowa State

New employees will be invited to participate in a University Orientation course in CANVAS, the University’s learning management system. Watch for an email invitation the week following your start date.  

This on-demand course uses various modes of delivery and includes different modules. Total viewing time will take less than one hour. The modules cover a variety of policies and legal requirements about which faculty and staff should be aware including IT use and computer ethics, campus safety and security, and discrimination and harassment prevention. It also offers an opportunity to better understand Iowa State University's culture by learning about mission, vision, values, and resources available to employees. 

 

You are also encouraged to review the College and University Professional Association (CUPA) training for Understanding Higher Education. This learning course provides an excellent overview of higher education as both an introduction and refresher valuable for all Iowa State employees.
